Milan and Inter to battle for promising €12m Schalke midfielder

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Inter and Milan are interested in 17-year-old Schalke 04 midfielder Assan Ouédraogo who has a €12m clause.

The pink paper reports Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been following Ouédraogo for the last two years so the Rossoneri are ready to make their move for the promising German midfielder who will be involved in the U17 World Cup starting tomorrow.

Inter have been scouting the versatile central midfielder for less time but are just as impressed as Milan, so they are also ready to make their move for Ouédraogo, who will turn 18 in May next year.

From that moment, clubs will be able to sign the 17-year-old by paying a €12m clause and offering the player a professional contract.

Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are also said to be following Ouédraogo and the same is true of Premier League clubs.

Ouédraogo has one goal and one assist in 11 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga so far this season.
