Milan ahead of Arsenal and Man Utd in race for Asensio as Maldini calls Ancelotti

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Paolo Maldini has called Carlo Ancelotti to sound out Marco Asensio’s availability and that the Rossoneri are ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign the Spaniard.

Asensio could leave the Bernabeu in the summer as his contract runs out in June 2023. Milan need a new right winger for 2022-23 and the Spain international is one of the Rossoneri’s targets.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Milan director Paolo Maldini has recently called his former coach Ancelotti, now in charge of Madrid, to sound out the availability of the talented winger. Ancelotti is open to parting ways with Asensio, but Madrid want at least €30-35m, so Milan must negotiate with the La Liga champions now.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also set their sights on Asensio, but the Serie A giants will play Champions League football next season, so they are ahead in the race to sign the 26-year-old.

Asensio is not the only Milan target for the right wing as Club Brugge’s Noa Lang is also on the Diavoli’s radars.
