Milan a dream for Silvestre

Matias Silvestre says he has fulfilled a dream after completing his transfer from Inter to city rivals Milan.

“I’m very happy and I have to say that Milan have welcomed me well,” the centre-back told Milan Channel.

“It has always been my desire to wear the Milan shirt and I want to repay the faith that the club have shown me on the field of play.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I have been giving my very best since arriving here. It is my objective to help the team be protagonists in 2013-14.”

The 28-year-old has joined the Diavolo on loan, with an option to buy at the end of the present campaign.

The Argentine rejected moves to Parma and Genoa this summer after being told by the Nerazzurri to find a new club.

Silvestre joined the San Siro giants last summer from Palermo, but he appeared in just 20 games for the Beneamata across Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Europa League.

He wasn’t called up by new boss Walter Mazzarri for Inter’s pre-season training.
