Fiorentina are seriously interested in a move for Weston McKennie but need a helping hand from Juventus to complete a deal.

The 25-year-old American midfielder has entered the last year of his contract with the Old Lady and will not be offered a new deal, not being part of Thiago Motta’s project in Turin moving forward.

McKennie has been linked with a number of possible destinations over the last few weeks, including Aston Villa, which he rejected as part of the Douglas Luiz deal, Inter Miami, Fenerbahce and multiple Bundesliga clubs.

Fiorentina need help for McKennie

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Fiorentina are keen to make a move for McKennie but cannot afford his €2.5m net per season wages, so would need Juventus to contribute for a deal to be possible.

The two parties will meet in the coming days to try and take stock of the situation, which is considered entirely unrelated to the Nico Gonzalez talks, and updates are expected as the Bianconeri look to find a buyer for the midfielder.
