Sky Sport Italia report he even called up the squad at their training retreat the day before the big game to fire up the troops.

Dries Mertens published a photograph on Twitter of Maradona holding up his Napoli jersey, while former kit chief Tommaso Starace did the same with Lorenzo Insigne’s shirt.

Sky Sport Italia then showed video of El Pibe de Oro singing the song that has become an anthem at Napoli this season, adjusting the lyrics to say “We’ll put three past Juve.”

Before that, goalkeeper Pepe Reina’s family met Maradona at an event and the Argentine warned “you have to turn down every offer, because you’ll never find love and affection like Napoli.”
