“In the Derby, you need to step on to the field with determination and give everything, because we know how important this game is to the fans,” Manolas told the Roma Match Program.

“In the Derby, you need to step on to the field with determination and give everything, because we know how important this game is to the fans,” Manolas told the Roma Match Program.
“Lazio are solid, sit back and are ready to go on the counter-attack. We know how they play and we’re convinced that we can take them on. Besides, we know that we are a stronger team than Lazio.”
Ciro Immobile was joint Capocannoniere in Serie A last season with Inter’s Mauro Icardi.
“He’s a strong player, but we have to above all focus on ourselves and giving our all for this jersey and our fans.”
Roma beat Frosinone 4-0 on Wednesday, their first win of the campaign since the opening weekend at Torino, with a new 4-2-3-1 formation.
“It is very important that we got back to winning ways, because it was a delicate moment of the season,” continued Manolas.
“We got the win with a strong performance and I am convinced we’ll continue on this path. You could see the determination that the Coach wanted and we scored four goals, but could’ve had more.
“Javier Pastore is very important for us and brings so much quality to the side. The Coach tried to shake things up a bit with the 4-2-3-1, so Steven Nzonzi and Daniele De Rossi created a dam in front of the defence, controlling the ball and giving the side balance.
“Our season didn’t start in the best way. We were 2-0 up against Chievo at half-time and dropped off in the second half because we assumed that the result was already secured.
“Even in the defeat to Bologna we were unlucky, as we had 26 shots on goal compared to their six. It’s not going our way lately and we have to do better because we are Roma.”
De Rossi marked his 600th competitive appearance in a Giallorossi jersey midweek.
“After Francesco Totti, Daniele is the symbol of Roma. He is the captain for us, a leader. Everyone dreams of following his career path and he sets the example,” concluded Manolas.
