Former Milan Coach Leonardo has wished Pippo Inzaghi the best of luck as the Rossoneri’s new boss.

The 40-year-old is set to replace Clarence Seedorf at the helm of the San Siro giants, with seemingly only the Dutchman’s departure from the club left to be resolved.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset earlier today, the Brazilian said the former striker will have a lot to learn in his new role but is convinced he will prove a good appointment over time.

“For Inzaghi his story is similar to mine,” Leonardo said. “He has great emotion and he is in love with football. He can give great enthusiasm.

“It must be an important moment for him. I experienced a very similar moment and I think there must be a lot of thoughts going through his head.

“Lots of things have happened and I think it’s difficult to explain it from the outside looking in. It has all happened very quickly and I think that is normal, considering how football is now.

“I hope that Milan get back on the right track with Inzaghi, someone who will bring in positive things.

“Pippo will do well because he has enthusiasm and he manages to put it across.

“Now he needs to give everything he has, but he also has a lot to learn. He needs to study a lot of things and put his experience into practice.

“He knows the environment well.”
