New signing Enzo Le Fée scored on his debut as Roma came back to beat Latina 6-1 in their first pre-season friendly match, but Tammy Abraham was out injured.
Coach Daniele De Rossi set his men out in a 4-3-3 formation and, in the absence of any real centre-forwards, he used Paulo Dybala in the False 9 role.
Romelu Lukaku and Sardar Azmoun were released after their loan spells, with Andrea Belotti sold to Como, so only Abraham remains and he was ruled out by a muscular injury in training.
It was a stuttering start, as Latina took the lead after 21 minutes with Capanni Dias.
However, Dybala earned and converted a penalty, while Ola Solbakken did the same moments later.
Dybala, Chris Smalling and Tommaso Baldanzi all rattled the woodwork before Niccolò Pisilli scored with a wonderful solo run.
Summer signing Le Fée added a fourth on the stroke of half-time when pouncing on a defensive error.
De Rossi used a completely different line-up for the second half, where 19-year-old Leonardo Graziani ran wild with a brace.
