Lazio turn to Mihajlovic or Mazzarri

Lazio have lost Simone Inzaghi to Inter, so the options to replace him are currently Sinisa Mihajlovic and Walter Mazzarri.

Multiple sources are confident Inzaghi has decided to accept the Inter offer, which will double the €2.5m salary that he would’ve received at the Stadio Olimpico.

This leaves Lazio empty-handed, having waited 18 months to negotiate the contract extension with their coach, and with a current deal that expires on June 30.

According to Sky Sport Italia, President Claudio Lotito has already contacted Mazzarri, who is a free agent after his experience at Torino ended last season.

The preferred candidate would be Mihajlovic, but he is under contract with Bologna, even though the rapport with the club and fans has become increasingly strained.

Mihajlovic, however, is a self-confessed Lazio supporter who spent much of his playing career at the Olimpico and his family still lives in Rome.

The Serbian would therefore jump at the chance to take on the Lazio role.

In turn, Sportitalia maintain Bologna will turn to Luca Gotti, who will not be confirmed as Udinese coach.
