Juventus reportedly want to keep Federico Bernardeschi but are hoping the winger will accept a significant wage cut.
The Italy international currently receives €4m a season and Calciomercato.com reports the Old Lady has started working to solve the situations of the players on expiring contracts.
The 27-year-old arrived from Fiorentina in July 2017 and has gone through some ups and downs during his time with the Bianconeri.
But the return of Max Allegri in the dugout has helped the attacker, who has appeared seven times across all competitions this term.
Bernardeschi provided the crucial assist in the 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Champions League last month, as he stepped up in the absence of Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata.
Juventus are eager to hand him a new deal at the Allianz Stadium, as his contract expires in June 2022, but are hoping he will accept a salary cut to extend.
The Old Lady is, according to the outlet, willing to offer him a new deal worth between €2.5m and €3m a season, and Bernardeschi’s future is still unknown.
If the player is not willing to take the wage cut, he could be used as a pawn during the transfer market in January, and the outlet claims the club could be looking to include him in a swap deal.
