Juventus pounce on Kimpembe as De Ligt pushes to leave

According to multiple reports in Italy, Juventus are interested in PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe, who could replace Matthijs de Ligt.

The Dutch defender is pushing to leave the Allianz Stadium and Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene has confirmed that ‘it will be difficult’ to keep hold of the Neterlands international in the summer.

De Ligt doesn’t want to sign a contract extension with the Serie A giants who are already looking for alternatives in the market. Sky Sport Italia and Il Corriere della Sera report that PSG’s Kimpembe is the latest defender on Juventus’ sights.

A 2018 France World Cup winner, Kimpembe scored two goals in 41 appearances with the Ligue 1 giants last season.

His contract at the Stade des Princes runs out in June 2024.

He is not the only centre-back linked with a move to Juventus who have also set their sights on Serie A stars Gleison Bremer (Torino), Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina) Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) and Arsenal’s Gabriel.
