Juventus line up Atalanta’s Muriel as Morata alternative – report

Juventus are reportedly still working on a deal for Alvaro Morata but they’ve now also started exploring a deal for Luis Muriel.

The Bianconeri are working to pick up a new forward and Massimiliano Allegri’s first choice is still the Spanish striker, who returned to Atletico Madrid last month after his two-year loan spell drew to a close. Juventus want to bring back Morata but Diego Simeone’s side do not seem keen on a new deal.

As reported by Tuttosport, Juventus will meet with Atletico Madrid on Sunday to further discuss a possible deal for Morata. Things are still not looking positive at this stage, with the two clubs disagreeing on both the figures and the formula of a deal.

As such, the Turin side have approached Atalanta to explore a move for Muriel, whose contract expires in Bergamo next year. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side want around €15m but for the 31-year-old but a deal could possibly reached for a lower fee of €12m.
