Juventus duo to miss Coppa final

It’s been confirmed Alvaro Morata and Claudio Marchisio of Juventus will both be suspended for the Coppa Italia final against Lazio.

Morata is suspended for one match after being sent off in the second leg of the semi-final against Fiorentina, while Marchisio will also miss one round for accumulating two Coppa Italia yellow cards, the Lega Serie A has announced.

Other players facing one-game bans are Raul Albiol of Napoli and Matias Fernandez of Fiorentina, although both of their clubs have already exited the competition for this season.

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has been sanctioned €1500 for excessive protests to the match official, a punishment that was aggravated by the fact he was captaining his team.

There were further fines for the two eliminated semi-finalists, Napoli and Fiorentina, due to the behaviour of fans during their matches against Lazio and Juventus respectively.

Napoli have been fined €10,000 for fans repeatedly shining laser pens into the face of the referee and opposition players.

In addition, President Aurelio De Laurentiis has also picked up a ban until the 20th April, for having ‘repeatedly used blasphemous expressions’ in the changing room at full time.

Fiorentina face a fine of €15,000 due to a small section of supporters in the Curva Fiesole singing a song on the 34th and 71st minutes that offended the memory of a deceased Juventus player.
