Juventus dealt triple injury blow as Kaio Jorge suffers suspected ACL tear

Juventus have confirmed injuries to Alex Sandro and Weston McKennie, while Kaio Jorge suffered a suspected ACL tear during Juventus U23’s Serie C clash against Pro Patria.

The Brazilian striker was stretchered off the pitch during the first half of today’s match between Juventus U23 and Pro Patria at the Stadio Moccagatta in Alessandria.

The former Santos striker left the pitch in tears. According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus fear that the Brazilian starlet has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, so his season could be over.

Kaio Jorge, 20, joined Juventus from Santos in the summer. He was not included in Juventus’ Champions League list, so he was part of Lamberto Zauli’s squad for today’s Serie C match.

Kaio Jorge had scored his first professional goal in Italy in his first appearance with the U23 squad. He has played 11 games with Juventus’ senior team this season.

Alex Sandro and Weston McKennie also suffered injuries during yesterday’s Champions League clash against Villareal and released an official statement about both players on their official website.

“Alex Sandro, due to a blunt trauma suffered during last night’s match against Villarreal, underwent radiological examinations this afternoon at J|Medical which revealed a low-grade lesion of the soleus muscle of the left leg. His condition will be re-evaluated in 10 days.

“Weston McKennie also underwent further investigations at J|Medical which confirmed the presence of a compound fracture of the 2nd and 3rd metatarsal bones of his left foot. The initial recovery time is expected to be approximately eight weeks.”
