Juventus call in youth players for Empoli trip

Juventus are missing eight players for tomorrow’s trip to Empoli, so Max Allegri has called up three youngsters from the Under-23 side to bulk up the numbers.

It is due to kick off on Saturday at 19.45 GMT at the Stadio Castellani.

The Bianconeri have an injury crisis on their hands, as Alex Sandro picked up a calf strain during the 1-1 Champions League draw with Villarreal, while Weston McKennie suffered a double fracture to his foot.

Already on the treatment table are Paulo Dybala, Giorgio Chiellini and Federico Bernardeschi.

Federico Chiesa and Kaio Jorge are out for the rest of the season following major knee surgery.

It means Allegri has called up three players from the Under-23 squad, 18-year-old Fabio Miretti, 21-year-old Marley Ake and 18-year-old Matias Soule.

Juventus squad: Szczesny, Pinsoglio, Perin; De Sciglio, De Ligt, Danilo, Cuadrado, Pellegrini, Bonucci; Arthur, Rabiot, Locatelli, Zakaria, Miretti; Vlahovic, Morata, Kean, Aké, Soulé
