Juve hope players cut Jimenez cost

Juventus hope to use Federico Bernardeschi and Daniele Rugani to whittle down the Wolves asking price for Raul Jimenez, while Liverpool pull out of the race.

The Mexico international is fast becoming the prime candidate to lead the Bianconeri line next season, after difficulties negotiating with Napoli for Arkadiusz Milik.

According to the Daily Express, there is one less contender in the running, because Liverpool have withdrawn their interest in the 29-year-old.

According to the Daily Express, there is one less contender in the running, because Liverpool have withdrawn their interest in the 29-year-old.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport note that Juventus will try to use some of their players as part of an exchange deal to lower the €50m price-tag.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had already asked after defender Rugani last summer, but the move was stalled by Giorgio Chiellini’s injury.

Another candidate is Bernardeschi, who has struggled for consistency and suffered from not having a fixed role within Maurizio Sarri’s system.

“It’s very pleasing to see myself linked with great teams like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus,” Jimenez told Bolavip.

“These are clubs that wrote the history of football. I take this interest as an incentive to continue giving more and growing in my career.”

He has scored 23 goals in 45 competitive games for Wolves this season, along with 10 assists.
