Jovetic: ‘Disappointed by EL exclusion’

Stevan Jovetic admits he’s “disappointed” to be left out of the Europa League squad but assures “I want to stay at Inter and play”.

The Montenegrin forward hasn’t featured for the Nerazzurri so far this season, and appeared to be on the verge of a return to Fiorentina.

However, the transfer collapsed on deadline day, and rumours of a potential Milan move appear to have been unfounded, with Jovetic later left out of the squad for the Europa League.

However, the transfer collapsed on deadline day, and rumours of a potential Milan move appear to have been unfounded, with Jovetic later left out of the squad for the Europa League.

“I’m disappointed, but there are four of us so I’m not alone,” the 26-year-old told Premium Sport.

“We hope that we’ll get past the group and then other players can be added to try and win the Europa League.

“A transfer? I wasn’t close to Milan, while with Fiorentina there was contact between the two clubs.

“In the end they didn’t sell me, and I want to stay at Inter and play because I know I can play.”
