Although Alvaro Morata has officially returned to Atletico Madrid, Juventus will make a new attempt to sign him this summer, reports in Italy claim.
The Spaniard has returned to the Wanda Metropolitano after his two-year spell at the Allianz Stadium. Juventus paid €20m for his temporary move to Turin but refused to make his move permanent for a further €35m.
Morata bid his farewell to Juventus with a video posted on Instagram yesterday and the Bianconeri thanked their striker for the commitment shown toward the club.
Morata’s contract with Atletico runs out in June 2024 and according to Gazzetta and Sportmediaset, the Bianconeri will try to sign him permanently this summer, negotiating a lower fee with Atletico.
The Colchoneros have rejected every offer from the Old Lady so far, but the Serie A giants hope the striker’s price tag will decrease in the second part of the summer transfer window.
Juventus don’t want to spend more than €15-20m to sign the Spain international permanently.
Morata had already spent two years at Juventus between 2014 and 2016 and has scored 59 goals in 185 games across his four-year spell in Turin.
