Luciano Spalletti is preparing to call up his 30-man preliminary Italy squad for the upcoming European Championship, so which midfielders will make the cut?

The pressure is on the Azzurri to put on a strong campaign at the tournament in Germany following the team’s failure to qualify for the recent World Cup in Qatar. Italy enter Euro 2024 as defending champions, having lifted the trophy at the last edition back in 2021.

Spalletti will soon confirm his 30-man preliminary Italy squad for Euro 2024. Whilst there’s a number of certainties in the team, a handful of doubts still need to be resolved ahead of the tournament’s start in June.

Italy’s midfielders at Euro 2024

Sky Sports Italia claims nine midfielders are on track to join the Italy squad for Euro 2024 – Andrea Cambiaso, Raoul Bellanova, Nicolo Barella, Jorginho, Bryan Cristante, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Davide Frattesi, Federico Dimarco and Manuel Locatelli.

The few doubts surround Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli, Bologna’s Giovanni Fabbian, Hellas Verona’s Michael Folorunsho and Fiorentina’s Giacomo Bonaventura.
