Italy coach Spalletti scouts Torino training ahead of October break

Luciano Spalletti is continuing to consider players for his Italy squad and is currently scouting Torino’s training session at the Stadio Filadelfia.

The 64-year-old Italian coach, who took over from Roberto Mancini following last month’s shock resignation, is kickstarting a new era with the national team, open to bringing in new faces as the team transitions to the next generation.

Spalletti visited Juventus’ training ground at Continassa on Wednesday, where he watched the players work and spoke with Massimiliano Allegri, keeping a close eye on Moise Kean.

As highlighted by TMW, Spalletti is joining the Torino squad at their training session in the Stadio Filadelfia today, closely following Alessandro Buongiorno and Samuele Ricci, two players who could soon grow into key parts of the new-look Italy squad.

The Azzurri’s next commitments come in October, when they’ll face Malta and England in two Euro 2024 qualifiers. The team are currently tied in second on seven points with Ukraine, piling on the pressure for all their remaining qualifiers.
