Inter’s vice president Javier Zanetti wishes Paulo Dybala ‘the best’ for his career and confirms that talks with the Argentinean star are ongoing.
La Joya is available as a free agent after Juventus refused to extend his contract in March. Beppe Marotta met his agent Jorge Antun last week and is expected to continue negotiations over the next few days.
Reports in Argentina suggest Dybala has already agreed personal terms with the former Juventus star, but Inter vice president Zanetti doesn’t confirm that the two parties have already shaken hands.
“We are in talks,” he told D-Sports Radio, as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I admire Paulo and I wish him the best for his career.
“Dybala is a great player and will surely represent us [Argentina] at the World Cup,” the former defender continued.
“Inter have always had a lot of South Americans in their team, especially Argentineans. Now we have Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa. The club trust the Argentineans.”
Dybala is currently on holiday in the USA and had dinner with his compatriot Correa two days ago. The restaurant owner posted a picture with the two strikers, writing ‘Welcome to Inter Dybala’, but changed the caption to ‘Forza Inter’ once his post had become viral.
Dybala joined Juventus in a €40m deal from Palermo in 2015 and scored 115 goals in 293 games with the Old Lady.
