Inter president Zhang returns to Milan with busy month ahead

Inter president Steven Zhang has arrived in Milan in preparation for an important month for the Nerazzurri.

The 30-year-old Chinese businessman has not been in the Lombardy capital since May 23, when the Milanese club celebrated their Scudetto success last season, but now he’s back with the January transfer market in full swing.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Zhang has a lot of work to do this month in Milan, starting with various contract renewals. The Milanese club need to renew the contracts of multiple members of the management team – like Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, Dario Baccin and Roberto Samaden – as well as various players, like Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and Samir Handanovic.

Zhang will also be focusing on this month’s transfer window, with André Onana and Matthias Ginter both close to signing a pre-contract with the club. Strategies are also being built for other important targets, like Torino’s Bremer, Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi and Gianluca Scamacca and River Plate star Julian Alvarez.

Inter are also looking at other options for this month, like Filip Kostic, Lucas Digne and Ramy Bensebaini. Other important areas of work for Zhang include the new stadium project and refinancing the two bonds worth around €375m total. These are passing from Goldman Sachs to Rothschild with a single new bond worth about €410m with a five-year maturity in 2027.
