Inter keeping tabs on Juventus loanee Demiral

Juventus are looking to sell Merih Demiral this summer and Atalanta are hesitating over a deal, leading Inter to keep a close eye on the situation.

The 24-year-old Turkish centre back spent this season on loan with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, making 42 appearances across all competitions. Signing Demiral would cost Atalanta around €18m plus bonuses, and so far no final decision has been made.

As reported by Corriere della Sera, Inter are keeping tabs on Demiral’s situation at Juventus, considering a possible move for the 24-year-old. The Turkish centre back had a decent spell with Atalanta but there’s no guarantees that his stay will be made permanent.

Juventus signed Demiral from Sassuolo in a deal worth around €19.5m back in July 2019. He made 32 appearances for the club, scoring one goal and providing two assists. It’s incredibly hard to imagine Massimiliano Allegri integrating the Turkish defender into his first team for next season.

There are also rumours of a possible exchange deal involving Stefan de Vrij.
