Inter fury over San Siro

Inter are reportedly furious after Milan President Silvio Berlusconi declared their intention to stay at San Siro.

The Rossoneri had been looking to develop their own stadium in the Portello area of the city, but got into dispute with Fondazione Fiera, which owns the land.

Berlusconi declared this week that the intention was therefore to remain at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza – shared with Inter – and Tuttosport reports that the Nerazzurri are furious.

Berlusconi declared this week that the intention was therefore to remain at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza – shared with Inter – and Tuttosport reports that the Nerazzurri are furious.

The main issue is believed to be the time wasted. Beneamata President Erick Thohir had explored the idea of leaving San Siro for a new stadium, but put those plans on hold when it appeared the Diavolo wanted to move out.

Inter had been developing a plan to completely remodel San Siro, as well as constructing a sports village in the surrounding area.

With Berlusconi’s announcement, the Nerazzurri hierarchy must now consider their options once again, and though a decision will not arrive quickly, it’s believed they could decided to once again explore the option of moving out.
