Inter fight back in 2-2 friendly draw with Lyon

Inter fought back from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw against Olympique Lyon in their pre-season friendly this evening.

The Nerazzurri found themselves 1-0 down after only 31 minutes following an Alexandre Lacazette header, and things went from bad to worse just after half time, when Rayan Cherki doubled Lyon’s lead after the ball rattled off the woodwork.

The second goal seemingly sparked life back into the Inter squad, who responded only two minutes later. A Lautaro Martinez shot was well saved by Anthony Lopes but his efforts were ultimately in vain after a Federico Dimarco cross met Romelu Lukaku, who guided the ball home to make things 2-1.

Some good link up play between Nicolo Barella and Lautaro in the 65th minute saw the Nerazzurri secure their equaliser, and they held on to secure a well-fought draw.

Inter will face Villarreal in a pre-season friendly on August 6 before their Serie A season kicks off on August 13 against Lecce.
