Inter appeal to CONI regarding postponed Bologna game

Inter have lodged an appeal with CONI regarding the postponed Serie A match against Bologna.

The match between the Rossoblu and the Nerazzurri was originally supposed to be played on January 6 but was called off due to a serious COVID outbreak in Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad. The Milanese club wanted to be awarded a default 3-0 win because Bologna failed to show up, but instead the decision came that the match would be replayed.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Inter have decide to appeal to CONI’s Collegio di Garanzia in a quest to receive a default win. They had already contested the decision with the Federal Court of Appeal, but it was rejected. Now they’ve taken up the case with the highest level of sporting justice in Italy.

Inter currently sit six points behind Serie A leaders Milan and being awarded a default win would see them sit only three points behind, putting them hot on their rivals’ tails.
