Inter all-in for Simeone

Inter have reportedly told Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone to name his price to take over from Stefano Pioli.

The Argentine has been very open about his desire to sit on the Nerazzurri bench one day, having played for the club for two seasons.

Simeone recently had his contract with Atleti reduced, so that it now runs to 2018, but the Beneamata are keen to bring him in this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, owners Suning Group have told the 46-year-old to name his price in terms of wages, with a four-year contract on offer.

Much will depend on Atletico Madrid’s progress in the Champions League this season, as lifting the trophy or being beaten in the final again could well see Simeone decide to walk away.

In addition, the club is still appealing a transfer ban, and if the ban were to be upheld it’s likely the Coach would leave.

Should Simeone decide to stay with Atleti, current Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti is at the top of Suning’s shortlist.
