Roma defender Mats Hummels has revealed that he is likely to make his Roma debut when the Giallorossi host Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League at the end of the month.

The German World Cup winner moved to the Stadio Olimpico as a free agent at the end of the summer, but arrived without having completed any pre-season training and is still yet to feature under Daniele De Rossi or Ivan Juric.

The 35-year-old recently joked on social media that he ‘hopes’ to be able to share pictures from the Stadio Olimpico ‘soon’, once he does eventually get his first runout in a Roma shirt.

Hummels insists Roma debut coming in Conference League

Hummels had been due to feature against Monza prior to the international break, but fell ill in the build-up and was ultimately not included in the matchday squad.

However, he has since told guests at an event in the city that he will make his debut against Dynamo Kyiv in Europe at the end of the month.

“It’s a shame I was ill last week. I had a fever and wasn’t able to set off for Monza, where I would have been a starter. I feel fit, I’m ready and good enough to play. I’m unlikely to start against Inter, but I’ll definitely play against Dynamo Kyiv,” Hummels said at an event for partners of Roma, as reported by Corriere dello Sport and TMW.
