Henderson welcomes Kjaer to Anfield: ‘He set new standards of leadership at the Euros’

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson welcomes Milan centre-back Simon Kjaer to Anfield, praising the Dane’s actions when Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed during the Euros this summer.

Milan fans were calling for Kjaer to become the new Rossoneri captain after his decisive actions helped save Eriksen, collapsed and was given CPR on the pitch in the final minutes of Denmark’s opening game against Finland at Parken Stadium.

Liverpool captain Henderson welcomes the former Sevilla defender to Merseyside tonight with a message of praise.

“I’d like to welcome AC Milan’s Simon Kjaer to Anfield this evening,” Henderson wrote on Twitter. “He set new standards of leadership during Euro 2020 when Christian Eriksen fell ill.”
