Hareide: ‘Humiliating for Eriksen’

Former Denmark CT Åge Hareide claims Inter coach Antonio Conte ‘is wrong’ and believes Christian Eriksen ‘is good enough to play more’ at the Nerazzurri.

Eriksen has struggled to convince the former Juventus coach since he moved to San Siro in January and in recent weeks, the 28-year-old has played six minutes over two games against Sassuolo and Bologna in Serie A.

Eriksen has struggled to convince the former Juventus coach since he moved to San Siro in January and in recent weeks, the 28-year-old has played six minutes over two games against Sassuolo and Bologna in Serie A.

“I think it’s a humiliating thing,” Hareide told Danish newspaper BT. “It’s never fun not to be a starter, but it’s humiliating to be put on the pitch in extra time, as happened on Saturday.

“Conte is wrong, Eriksen is good enough to be able to play more for Inter.”

Tonight, the Dane is expected to start against Shakhtar Donetsk, as Inter must cope without Arturo Vidal, Nicolò Barella and Radja Nainggolan in the decisive Champions League match.
