The Partenopei inflicted only the second Serie A defeat of the season on the Giallorossi.
“It was a great performance,” wrote Hamsik on his blog. “We wasted many chances, we’re aware of that, as making the most of our potential we should’ve scored many more goals.
“It’s a shame I hit the crossbar, but I am happy because the team is in a good period of form. I am also happy with our position in the table, which is an improvement from the start of the season.”
Napoli are now only four points adrift of Roma in second place.
