Francesco Guidolin has an injury crisis on his hands, but tells Udinese they “cannot afford” to lower their guard against Chievo.

He’ll have to do without Giampiero Pinzi, Damiano Ferronetti, Maurizio Domizzi, Andrea Coda and Paulo Vitor Barreto due to injuries and bans.

“We cannot afford to let our guard down. Chievo have real talent and Mimmo Di Carlo is someone who gives great courage to his sides,” said Guidolin.

“It is going to be a complicated match where we have to give 100 per cent to get the better of them.

“It’s a shame about the absentees, but I am not accustomed to self-pity. I have a good squad at my disposal and am sure we’ll find the right solutions.

“A change of tactics is possible, as I won’t rule out a 3-4-1-2 and am working on that for the future.

“I want to see my team having fun. If we get the results and play well, then we enjoy ourselves, just as Milan do when they approach football with that sense of fun. However, before getting to that stage we have to work hard and keep our heads 100 per cent on the game.”
