‘Guardiola’s Barca like Sacchi’s Milan’

Adriano Galliani may compare Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona side to Arrigo Sacchi’s Milan team, but he still thinks Max Allegri’s Rossoneri will have a say tonight.

Adriano Galliani may compare Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona side to Arrigo Sacchi’s Milan team, but he still thinks Max Allegri’s Rossoneri will have a say tonight.

Guardiola’s Blaugrana entertain Allegri’s Milan on Tuesday evening for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

In the Catalan city during the day’s final preparations, Vice President Galliani took questions on the game ahead, one that Barca legend Johan Cruyff believes the Spanish are favourites for.

“We are delighted to be here, to play in the quarter-final against the best team in the world,” began Galliani to Sky Sport 24.

“Cruyff says that Barcelona will win? He was a great player and as a great player he can say whatever he wants. Sacchi’s Milan, Cruyff’s Ajax and Guardiola’s Barca are the teams that no other has done better than in the last 40 years.

“Tonight there are no favourites, Milan and Barcelona are two great teams, it will be a spectacle.

“How do I see [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic? He was very focused. Out for revenge? No, there is no vendetta.”

Galliani also again commented on the first leg controversy surrounding the quality of the pitch.

“Guardiola is right to say that the surface at San Siro was poor, but the first to be affected by this situation is us, because we play so many games on it during the year. In the first leg, Barca asked us to water the pitch in the morning before the game but after that we did nothing more.

“Hopefully next year Inter and ourselves can play on a field that is partly natural and partly synthetic.”
