Goal against Fiorentina provides full circle Juventus moment for Miretti

Fabio Miretti’s goal against Fiorentina provided a full-circle moment for the Juventus midfielder who has now scored in all domestic competitions, from youth sector to first team, with the Old Lady.

Miretti is a product of Juventus Academy, having joined the club’s youth sector from Cuneo in 2011, at the age of eight.

The 20-year-old scored his first Serie A goal against Fiorentina on Sunday, helping Juventus secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Stadio Franchi. The Bianconeri only managed three shots on target but were still able to take home all three points, remaining two below Serie A leaders Inter.

Miretti’s strike against Fiorentina, his first one in 57 competitive appearances with Juventus’ senior team, means the U21 Italy international has now found the net in every domestic competition with the Old Lady.

Juventus celebrated the achievement of the 20-year-old on X, formerly Twitter: ‘He scored as a kid for Juve and scored as an adult for Juve. Scorer in all competitions with our shirt,’ the Bianconeri said after Sunday’s away win in Florence.

Miretti had already found the net eight times in 38 games with Juventus U19 (Primavera), including two in the Youth League, plus 15 in 17 games with the U17 team.

He was then promoted to the NextGen squad, playing in Italy’s third division where he managed four goals and five assists in 33 appearances.

Miretti made his senior Juventus debut in December 2021 in the final minutes of a 1-0 win over Malmö in the Champions League. His debut as a starter in Serie A came in May 2022 in a 2-1 victory against Venezia at the Allianz Stadium.
