Giovinco eyes Toronto stay

Former Juventus attacker Sebastian Giovinco says “I’d like to stay” at Toronto FC after helping the side win the MLS Cup.

Giovinco’s goals played a key role in Toronto clinching a domestic treble for the first time in their history, and the 30-year-old expressed his desire to see out the remaining two years of his contract with the Canadians.

“I’m happy for the team, the fans and the city,” he said at a Press conference.

“I think I have another two years on my contract. I’d like to stay here.

“You won’t believe me, but I want to play – maybe not next week – but soon. I want to win more.”
