Genoa set price tag for Tottenham, Newcastle and Barcelona’s defensive target

Genoa director Marco Ottolini insists Tottenham, Newcastle and Barcelona target Radu Dragusin won’t leave in the January transfer window, but Il Grifone have reportedly set a €35m price tag on the 21-year-old for next summer.

Dragusin, a former Juventus defender, has made 16 appearances across all competitions with Genoa this season, scoring his first Serie A goal in November in a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona.

The 21-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from many clubs around Europe. Calciomercato.com claims Tottenham and Newcastle have ‘repeatedly knocked on Genoa’s door’ asking for information about the Romanian centre-back, but the Rossoblu are unwilling to sell him this season.

The report also mentions Spanish sources claiming Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the ex-Juventus defender, who has collected 35 appearances in Serie A. Calciomercato.com adds that Genoa have set a €35m price tag on Dragusin ahead of next summer’s transfer window.

Club director Ottolini has recently spoken about the defender’s future, revealing that Genoa won’t listen to offers in January.

“We don’t even think about it,” Ottolini told Tuttosport.

“Then, of course, a strong player born in 2002 has attracted interest from many European clubs. Many people have contacted us, but we haven’t received official offers.”

Dragusin’s Genoa, coached by Italy’s 2006 World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino have collected 15 points in 14 Serie A games this season, conceding 19 goals.
