Gazzetta: Juventus coach Allegri calls Chelsea defender Koulibaly

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus remain interested in Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Massimiliano Allegri has already made initial contact with the ex-Napoli centre-back.

Allegri and Juventus are long-time admirers of the Senegal international who snubbed a move to Turin last summer, joining Chelsea, out of respect for Napoli fans.

However, according to Gazzetta, the Old Lady remains interested in the experienced centre-back who is unhappy at Stamford Bridge. That’s why Allegri hopes to sign the 31-year-old at the end of the season.

Juventus will appoint a new sporting director before the summer, but Allegri appears to have already started talks with Koulibaly, directly confirming through a recent phone call that he wants to work with him in Turin in 2023-24.

Koulibaly is reportedly unhappy at Chelsea but would need to take a pay cut to return to Italy, joining Juventus. The Old Lady can afford the defender’s signature with a loan deal similar to the one that helped Inter reunite with Romelu Lukaku last summer.
