Gian Piero Gasperini has reacted with surprise to reports that Wesley Sneijder doesn't want to play for Inter in the Super Cup Final.

"That's news to me," the tactician stated ahead of Saturday's clash against Milan in Beijing.

"I think that there may be some wrong information going around about this issue – actually, a lot of wrong information.

"I notice that a lot of stories have grown around Inter that are not true at all. In my opinion the atmosphere at the club is fine. Sneijder will play."

Sneijder has been linked with Manchester United, while there are also doubts about the futures of Samuel Eto'o and Douglas Maicon.

"It's normal for there to be rumours during the transfer market, especially when there are great players like ours at a club," added Gasperini.

"But the truth is that nothing has happened so far on the transfer market and we are here to play our match, independently of everything else."

Gasperini is eager to get his Inter career off to a good start after his shock arrival this summer following the exit of Leonardo.

"This is a starting point for me but there are still a lot of steps to cover," added the former Crotone and Genoa boss.

"We have so many objectives to reach together and this is the first big match with a trophy at stake.

"What is ahead of us is one match and we'll be playing with one objective in mind, then there will still be time to build for the new season. We really want to win this Super Cup.

"We have come to Beijing and it really is an honour for us because of the prestige and also to help spread the game of football throughout China."
