Garcia still under scrutiny at Napoli as De Laurentiis outlines short-term goals – report

Reports on Tuesday evening have suggested that Napoli coach Rudi Garcia is under continued scrutiny at Napoli following his side’s 2-2 home draw with Milan on Sunday evening.

Garcia has been on the receiving end of criticism in the early stages of the 2023-24 season, with performances on the pitch not living up to the same standards of the memorable title-winning campaign in 2022-23.

Napoli currently sit outside the Champions League positions after 10 games, in fifth with 18 points, one shy of Atalanta in fourth and seven off the Serie A leaders Inter

On Sunday, Napoli found themselves two down at home to Milan just after half an hour played, but were able to rescue a point in the second half after a tactical shift from Garcia at the interval.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis, however, still has faith in the squad that Garcia has had available to him according to reports from Calciomercato.com.

And, as per Tuesday’s report, De Laurentiis has no intention of dismissing Garcia in the immediate future, although that could partly be due to the lack of other available options, Calciomercato writes.

ADL has reportedly set out objectives for Napoli’s next three matches: A maximum nine points from the upcoming games against Salernitana, Union Berlin and Empoli across Serie A and the Champions League.
