Rudi Garcia was not happy with Kevin Strootman’s injury and commented on Erik Lamela and Miralem Pjanic transfer rumours.

Strootman and Federico Balzaretti were on target in Saturday’s 2-1 friendly win over Ternana, which also saw Gervinho make his Giallorossi debut for the final half-hour.

“We’ll see if Strootman’s injury is serious or not. Of course, I hope not,” said the Coach after the Dutchman went off with a sprained ankle.

There are reports in this morning’s newspapers that Strootman could be out for up to a month, though more tests are needed.

Garcia was visibly angry with the Ternana players for what he saw as systematic tough tackling just a week before the start of the season.

“It was a good first half, even if I didn’t like the fact we conceded a goal. The team is working hard. Douglas Maicon played the whole game, which was important for him and the team, while Gervinho is settling in.”

Roma’s directors have been in London for talks with Tottenham technical director Franco Baldini, as Spurs have reportedly made offers for Lamela, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Pjanic.

“This is a match day, so I will only answer questions relating to the match,” Garcia told journalists.

“We will be stronger if we keep the current squad, but we’ll have to wait and see with regards to the future.”
