The Belgium international will return to the Stadio Meazza on loan, less than a year after his €113m move to Stamford Bridge. He struggled to justify his price tag under Thomas Tuchel, scoring 15 goals in 44 appearances with the Premier League giants.
Chelsea fans have never really loved Lukaku, especially since his interview in December when he apologised to Inter fans for the way he left, saying that he wanted to return to the club at the peak of his career.
On the other hand, most Inter fans on social media are ready to welcome their ex-striker with open arms after seeing him score 64 goals in 95 appearances during his two-year spell under Antonio Conte.
Lukaku had justified his move to Chelsea a year ago, saying a return to Stamford Bridge was an opportunity he could not turn down. However, he didn’t take long to understand that the Blues were not the right place for him and pushed to return to Inter for several months.
