Evra: ‘No decision on future’

Patrice Evra reveals ‘I’ll make a decision on my future at the end of the season’ as his Juventus contract nears expiry.

The 34-year-old has played an important part in the Bianconeri’s Scudetto win this season, making 24 league appearances.

However, his deal with the Old Lady runs out at the end of June and the France international has revealed he must ‘make the decision alone’ about whether to renew.

“I still haven’t made a decision on my future,” Evra told Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, his deal with the Old Lady runs out at the end of June and the France international has revealed he must ‘make the decision alone’ about whether to renew.

“I still haven’t made a decision on my future,” Evra told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’ve had two special years with Juve, we’ll meet at the end of the season and then I’ll say yes or no.

“I must be honest with myself and with Juve. There aren’t any problems, it’s a decision that I must make alone.”

Evra was also asked about similarities between Juve and his former club Manchester United, where he spent eight seasons between 2006 and 2014.

“In both cases you must respect the history of the club,” he explained.

“Getting a draw here or at United is a drama. This is the difference with the others: the shirt counts.

“You saw what happened at the start? When you play for Juventus there’s so much responsibility. Before talent, you need personality.”
