Emery: ‘Big offer needed for Matuidi’

Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery is “very happy” with Blaise Matuidi, so it would take “a big offer” for him to leave for Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery is “very happy” with Blaise Matuidi, so it would take “a big offer” for him to leave for Juventus.

The Bianconeri are believed to be interested in the midfielder as a replacement for Paul Pogba, with suggestions Matuidi would go to Turin but PSG won’t sell.

“It’s a three-part question,” Emery explained in his Press conference ahead of the game against Metz.

“There’s the team, the club and the player. If the three are very clear that he wants to be here, the issue is settled.

“The latest news – or what’s coming from outside – is the possibility that he leaves.

“We’ve spoken about this question. I’m very happy with Matuidi. Those in charge think Matuidi is very important. After that, the club asked the player what he thinks and he said he’s very happy here.

“That aside, there’s the possibility of a big offer from a good club, in which case there’d be the discussion over whether he’d continue with us or leave.

“Everything is clear for us, we want the player to stay with us and stay at PSG. I expect this discussion to end soon because I want the player to stay here.”
