Dybala: ‘I want to stay at Juventus’

Paulo Dybala assures he wants to stay at Juventus “for a long time” and says Paul Pogba “misses us”.

The forward has been one of the Bianconeri’s star men since joining from Palermo last year, and has been linked with a move to Barcelona in future.

“Lionel Messi? He was my idol, and I dreamed of playing with him,” Dybala admitted in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“The first time [with Argentina] was an unforgettable experience, the top was an exchange of passes when I set him up to shoot.

“Could we be together at Barcelona? It’s just gossip, I’m very attached to the Bianconero shirt, people need to understand that I have a strong relationship with Juve and not listen to rumours.

“I’m happy to be here, and I want to be part of this team for a long time.”

Paul Pogba didn’t share those sentiments, and left to join Manchester United for a world-record €105m in the summer.

“We stay in touch. We lack his quality on the pitch and we miss his laughter in the dressing room. But he misses us too, just look where we are in the table and look at Manchester United.”

Both Pogba and Dybala have been tipped as future Ballon d’Or winners, is that an objective?

“At the moment it’s right that it alternates between Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo,” Dybala replied.

“Do I think about it? All the time. In this year’s edition I didn’t get any votes, but just to be nominated at 22 is amazing. Now I want to go higher.”
