Donnarumma Europe’s top ‘keeper

Milan talent Gianluigi Donnarumma is the best performing goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues in 2019, with Torino’s Salvatore Sirigu in third place.

According to WhoScored.com, the Italy international was the most reliable man between the sticks, with a save success rate of 81.9 per cent.

Donnarumma narrowly beat Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid into second place, with his 81.2 per cent success rate.

Donnarumma narrowly beat Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid into second place, with his 81.2 per cent success rate.

Coming in third was another Serie A and Italy representative, Torino shot-stopper Salvatore Sirigu, who kept opponents out 79.2 per cent of the time.

It is particularly remarkable considering Donnarumma is still only 20 years old, but made his Serie A debut aged 16 years and eight months.
