Fatih Terim is third on the Turkey bench with €3.5m, then Germany’s World Cup winning Joachim Löw on €3.2m and Vicente del Bosque of Spain with €3m.

Host nation France pay Didier Deschamps just over €2m per year.

Moving to the bottom of the pile, Anghel Iordanescu of Romania earns just €120,000 per year as their national team Coach.

The most intriguing situation is for Russia’s Slutsky, who took over from Fabio Capello, as he will not be paid a specific wage.

His reimbursement is solely in the form of performance-related bonuses.
