Denis Zakaria could be sent back to Juventus in January as Chelsea reportedly explore the idea of terminating his loan deal in January.
The 25-year-old Swiss midfielder joined the Blues on loan on transfer deadline day last month, being a last minute addition to Thomas Tuchel’s squad. Zakaria has not played a single minute for Chelsea since his arrival but made it clear in a recent interview that he was keen to prove his qualities in West London.
As reported by 90min.com, Chelsea want to terminate Zakaria’s loan deal in January and send him back to Juventus because the player isn’t part of new coach Graham Potter’s plans at the club.
The Blues are stuck in a difficult position, however. The 25-year-old has already made two appearances for Juventus this season and if he played a single minute for Chelsea then he wouldn’t be able to play for a third team this season. There’s also no obligation for the Bianconeri to take Zakaria back.
