Chelsea flop Lukaku obsessively wants Inter return: latest updates

Romelu Lukaku is desperate to return to Inter following an incredibly disappointing season with Chelsea, forcing Thomas Tuchel to discuss the Belgian’s future with new owner Todd Boehly.

The 29-year-old Belgian forward returned to the Blues last summer from the Nerazzurri in a deal worth around €115m, and expectations were high following his impressive two years in Italy. Things did not go to plan in West London, however, and after a painful season Lukaku only managed to net eight Premier League goals, with only one being against a fellow top six side.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku is obsessively pushing for a return to Inter and he wants to personally negotiate a way out of Chelsea. Tuchel will meet with Boehly later this week to discuss transfer market strategies and the need to cut their losses with the Belgian forward.

Things won’t be simple, however, as Lukaku is only keen to return to Inter, limiting market opportunities. For his part, the former Everton and Manchester United man is willing to halve his current salary in order to return to the Nerazzurri; the €7.5m figure being floated would only cost the club €10m thanks to the Growth Decree.
