Champions League: Milan vs Inter – probable line-ups

Rafael Leao is a major doubt for Milan ahead of tonight’s Champions League derby against Inter, while Hakan Calhanoglu or Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start in the middle of the park for the Nerazzurri.

Kick-off at San Siro is set for 20.00 UK time.

The major talking point ahead of the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Milan and Inter is the availability of influential Rossoneri forward Rafael Leao, after he was withdrawn 11 minutes into the most recent league fixture.

The final decision is set to be decided upon on Wednesday morning, but with such a short turnaround from the game against Lazio on Sunday, an immediate return to the starting line-up for Leao would be very impressive.

Stefano Pioli will also be without full-back Alessandro Florenzi, who continues to be sidelined by a muscular issue picked up a few weeks ago.

Inter will be without Milan Skriniar, who has reportedly played his last game for the Nerazzurri after picking up an injury in his back in April.

Danilo D’Ambrosio and Robin Gosens are the doubts for Simone Inzaghi heading into the semi-final, who aren’t expected to be fully fit, but did both train with the rest of the first team on Tuesday.

The only doubt for Inzaghi concerns central midfielder with Calhanoglu or Mkhitaryan starting alongside Nicolò Barella and Marcelo Brozovic.

Milan-Inter: probable line-ups

Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo; Krunic, Tonali; Diaz, Bennacer, Saelemaekers; Giroud.

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro.

Update: According to Sky Sport Italia, Calhanglu is likely to start in place of Mkhitaryan or Brozovic.
