Cassano: ‘Napoli are the anti-Inter’

Antonio Cassano feels that Napoli have ‘made little or no mistakes’ since Christmas, being ‘the anti-Inter’ in the title race.

The Partenopei rose to the top of the Serie A table yesterday after a last minute win over Lazio. They’re tied on points with Milan and two points ahead of the Nerazzurri, who suffered a frustrating 0-0 draw with Genoa on Friday.

Speaking on BoboTV, Cassano gave his thoughts on Napoli and the title race now.

“Napoli are the anti-Inter team, since after Christmas they have made little or no mistakes, they have convinced me even more than the Nerazzurri.

“They’ve had their ups and downs, which are normal, but at the moment as a footballing proposition they’re the one I enjoy watching the most. I think Inter should be afraid of them.”

The pressure is on for Napoli now as they face joint-top Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday evening. A win further consolidates their spot at the top, whilst a loss risks seeing them drop behind in the title race. With Inter two points behind the pair, they need to continually put in consistent performances in order to keep up.

The Nerazzurri face bottom place Salernitana at home on the weekend, but first they’ll face the Rossoneri in a Coppa Italia semi-final derby, so they’ll have to rotate the squad a little in order to conserve energy.
